Is Rihla free to read? +
Yes — all guides on Rihla are free to read. We are supported by occasional partnerships and sponsorships, clearly disclosed when they occur.
How do I submit a story pitch? +
Use the "Story Pitch" tab in the form above. Include your working title, a 200–400 word pitch, the destination/culture, and your credentials. We respond to all pitches within one week.
What topics do you cover? +
History, architecture, cuisine, art & craft, language, music, traditions and more. We focus particularly on cultures underrepresented in mainstream English-language media, with a strong emphasis on North Africa and the Islamic world.
Can I republish Rihla content? +
Please reach out to hello@rihla.guide for republication requests. We consider requests from educational institutions, non-profits and cultural organizations on a case-by-case basis.
How do you ensure accuracy? +
All guides undergo fact-checking by at least one subject-matter expert. Writers are required to cite primary or academic sources. If you spot an error, please let us know via the Reader Mail form.
